Who am I?
My name is Matthew Petti. I worked as a beat reporter covering foreign policy for a couple years after university. Currently, I’m on a research fellowship in the Middle East — one that started as a project on the spread of misinformation across borders, and has since turned into a much deeper meditation on the role of translation in the international press.
This blog is, as the name suggests, my notebook. It’s a place for day-to-day thoughts on media, politics, history, and anything else that comes to mind. And when I publish original reporting elsewhere, I like to discuss the behind-the-scenes process that led to the story on this blog.
If you like what you see, give it a follow. And if you hate what you see, give it a follow anyways, because I’d be really interested in your feedback.
